University of Arkansas Nanoscale Material Science and Engineering Building
University of Arkansas Fayetteville
This award-winning building is the home base for the Institute for Nanoscience and Engineering and the Microelectronics-Photonics (µEP) Graduate Program, as well as being the physical home of the Arkansas Analytical Lab. The three-story 75,000 SF facility houses state-of-the-art materials and analytical laboratories, clean rooms, sensitive instrument laboratories housing TEM and SEM microscope equipment, and wet labs, as well as classrooms, faculty offices, and meeting spaces. Due to the extremely sensitive nature of the research equipment, building components and systems were built to mitigate exterior vibrations and electromagnetic interference (EMI) while providing stringent humidity and temperature controls (e.g., controls temperatures to within 0.1 degree Celsius). This project has been certified LEED Gold.
